Bookstock Fund

Bookstock Fund

The Bookstock Fund was created from the revenue of each year’s Bookstock sale and donations. Focused on enhancing literacy in Detroit and throughout Michigan, each year the Fund looks for community partners doing inspiring and life changing work on the individual, family, and organizational level.

Recently the Bookstock Fund has supported programs such as poetry slams and classroom libraries, book clubs hosted in Brilliant Detroit homes and the Einstein Method teacher training, and Remain in Touch – a Northern Michigan program that records incarcerated parents and their children reading books together.  Examples of new grants in 2025 include Chaldean Community Foundation, Making Spirits Bright and Birdies Bookmobile that offer diverse and culturally relevant books accessible to all children.

Check back to this page for updates and details regarding the grants that the Bookstock Fund is proud to give to those in our community organizing access to and passion around reading and books, at home and at school.
